Introduction
Woodland Assessment Grant (WAG) contributes to cost of work to collect information that will help woodland manager decision making. Management information may relate to the potential impact on landscape, archaeology, ecology or local community. We will also support the production of deer management plans or tree measurement work related to continuous cover forestry.
The information may also be needed to justify whether an operation can commence and/or receive other grants.
Eligibility and how to apply
Before this grant can be offered, woodland owners will need to ensure that they have an approved application for Woodland Planning Grant (WPG) or have submitted an application for a felling licence or other grant.
For further details about eligibility, grant rates and how to apply, please refer to the EWGS3 WAG Guide and the EWGS1 General Guide.
